The Korean Society of Lipidology and Atherosclerosis (KSLA) is a nonprofit and multidisciplinary organization and is composed of cardiologists, endocrinologists, nutritionists and basic researchers.

The mission of the society is to prevent atherosclerosis and to improve public awareness regarding the seriousness of atherosclerosis and its risk factors. To fulfill this mission, the society has been funding research, publishing a scientific journal and treatment guidelines, as well as providing special information through a variety of scientific congresses and encouraging public awareness through regular events such as ‘the cholesterol day’.

As atherosclerosis is not just a to domestic dilemma, we need to collaborate and communicate with health professionals and societies in other countries to share experiences and expertise. As one of the international academic activities, the society successfully held the 5th Congress of Asian-Pacific Society of Atherosclerosis and Vascular Disease with 2300 participants in April, 2006 at the Jeju Convention Center, Jeju, Korea.

In the autumn, 2013, the 4th ICAO meeting hosted by the ICCR and the KSLA will be held in Seoul, Korea. The autumn in Seoul is a fantastic season with blue and high sky and with mild temperature. All participants can enjoy both new knowledge of cardiometabolic risk and the best season in Seoul.
